PE
Physical Education at Lindridge, St Lawrence CE VA Primary School and Nursery.
At Lindridge, Physical Education is about more than just being active, it’s about developing confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong love for movement. Rooted in our school vision, "Discovering Life in All Its Fulness," our PE curriculum provides children with opportunities to grow physically, socially, and emotionally while embracing the challenges of sport, outdoor adventure, and active play.
Guided by our school values, Hesed (Kindness), Hamdah (Praise), Honesty, and Horizons, we encourage our pupils to support one another, celebrate achievements, and push beyond their comfort zones. Whether working as part of a team, setting personal goals, or simply enjoying the outdoors, our children learn that physical activity is for everyone.
As a small rural school, we make the most of our beautiful surroundings by incorporating Forest School sessions and outdoor learning into our curriculum. These experiences allow children to develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and a deep connection with nature. In addition, we offer outward-bound residential trips, giving pupils the chance to experience new challenges, build independence, and develop a spirit of adventure.
We are proud to work closely with our local high school, providing our children with opportunities to take part in festivals, competitions, and coaching sessions led by specialist PE staff. These partnerships help to inspire confidence, prepare pupils for transition, and expose them to a variety of sports and activities.
Through high-quality PE, active play, and outdoor adventure, we empower our pupils to lead active, healthy lifestyles, discover new passions, and develop the perseverance to overcome challenges, both in sport and in life.
