PSHE & RSE at Lindridge, St Lawrence CE VA Primary School and Nursery

At Lindridge, Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education, along with Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), plays a vital role in nurturing confident, compassionate, and well-rounded individuals. Rooted in our school vision, "Discovering Life in All Its Fulness," our curriculum helps children develop the knowledge, skills, and values they need to build positive relationships, make informed choices, and navigate the world with kindness and integrity.

Guided by our school values, Hesed (Kindness), Hamdah (Praise), Honesty, and Horizons, we create a supportive and inclusive environment where children feel safe to explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, and build resilience. Through thoughtful discussions, role-play, and real-life scenarios, we empower our pupils to express themselves, respect others, and embrace diversity.

Using Coram, Life education’s SCARF (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship) resources; our PSHE curriculum covers essential themes such as mental well-being, healthy lifestyles, online safety, and financial education, ensuring that pupils develop the skills to make responsible choices both now and in the future. Our RSE programme is delivered in an age-appropriate way, helping children understand friendships, family relationships, personal boundaries, and the importance of respect and consent. We work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that our approach reflects the needs and values of our school community.

As a small rural school, we also place great importance on community engagement, outdoor learning, and teamwork, using our Forest School sessions, outward-bound experiences, and partnerships with the local high school to help children develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

By equipping pupils with the knowledge and emotional intelligence to navigate life’s challenges, we prepare them to become compassionate, responsible citizens—ready to embrace opportunities, overcome obstacles, and shape a brighter future.
