Geography

The Geography curriculum at Lindridge St Lawrence CE VA Primary School will inspire the children to Discover Life in all its Fullness. The children develop a curiosity and fascination about the world and develop a connection with its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. They will learn to think like a geographer, develop the confidence to question and observe places, measure and record necessary data in various ways, and analyse and present their findings.

Teaching will equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. By widening the pupils’ knowledge and experiences through fieldwork, their growing knowledge about the world will help them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.

Teaching of geographical knowledge, understanding and skills will provide the frameworks and approaches that explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time. The beautiful grounds at Lindridge provide a stimulating springboard for learning in Geography.
