Mathematics at Lindridge St Lawrence CE VA Primary School and Nursery

At Lindridge, we believe that mathematics is a journey of discovery—helping children develop essential problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the world around them. As a small rural school, we take pride in making maths accessible and relevant, ensuring our pupils see its value in everyday life while exploring broader mathematical concepts.

Guided by our school values—hesed, Hamdah, Honesty and Horizons, we encourage children to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and apply mathematical reasoning in different contexts. Our vision, "Discovering life in all its fulness”, shapes our approach to maths, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and a love for numbers.

Mathematics at our school is structured using the White Rose Maths scheme, providing a mastery-based approach that builds strong foundations. From developing number sense in the Early Years to tackling complex problem-solving in upper primary, we ensure that every child sees maths as engaging, challenging, and meaningful.

By fostering curiosity and a love for learning, we equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills to apply mathematics confidently, think logically, and succeed in an ever-changing world.
