    Beautiful Work Showcase

    Year 5/6 Project Overview

To fully immerse the children into our writing texts and foster creative context, we engage in hands-on workshops, themed exploration days, and interactive speaking activities. Throughout the term, pupils develop a diverse portfolio of writing including character studies, formal persuasive letters, descriptive settings, and reflective diary entries. In addition, pupils have multiple structured opportunities to present their work in front of an audience, refining their physical oracy and public presentation skills.

    What The Student Says

"Incredible edibles has some amazing recipes! I can't wait to make my own mini make on Friday"

"I can find common denominators easily by using my times table knowledge"

    What Skills Were Developed?

    • Developed a sophisticated command of ambitious, context-specific vocabulary.

    • Mastered complex sentence structures including fronted adverbials and relative clauses.

    • Applied the full range of Year 6 punctuation (semicolons, colons, dashes, and hyphens).

    • Refined public speaking, active listening, and audience engagement strategies.

    • Achieved consistent, fluent, and legibly joined cursive handwriting styles.

    What The Teacher Says

During the start of the second half of our Autumn term I have been blown away by the children ability to recall and use prior learning to tackle new/ trickier problems. This has been evident with their language choices in their instructional writing and also in their ability to tackle our Fractions problems.
