Introduction to our team:

Designated Safeguarding Lead, Pupil Premium and Attendance Lead

Hello, I'm Helen Hadley, headteacher and designated safeguarding lead. I've worked in education since 1996 becoming a deputy safeguarding lead in 2019, a safeguarding lead in my previous school from 2024 and taking on the role of safeguarding lead as the headteacher at Lindridge in 2026. My priority will always be to ensure the safety and well-being of your children. I am committed to staying up to date on all training and research that supports the safeguarding of your children, most recently training in Prevent, Get Safe, Operation Encompass and FGM.

I also have responsibility for Pupil Premium in school. As the Pupil Premium lead, I am dedicated to ensuring an inclusive environment for ALL children, ensuring we are improving educational outcomes for disadvantaged children. My passion for teaching and commitment to equal opportunities drive my efforts to support every child. I cherish our Lindridge community and am deeply invested in the development and well-being of each child in our care. 

SENDCO, DDSL, Designated Teacher for looked after children (LAC):

Hi, I'm Megan Murphy. As a SENDCO (SENCO), I am a qualified teacher with additional training in special educational needs and/or disabilities. My primary responsibility involves overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the school's SEN policy. In some schools, I am referred to as a SENDCO.

My role includes coordinating all additional support for children and young people with SEND. On a daily basis, I work to put the setting's SEND policy into action. I collaborate with staff to ensure proper support for children with SEND, and I actively engage with parents to assist in the development of their children.

In addition to my direct involvement within the school, I liaise with local council support services and collaborate with other professionals, such as those in health services. My overarching goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

I am also the designated teacher for Looked After Children (LAC) and one of the deputy safeguarding leads at our school. My main focus here is helping our staff understand how factors unique to Looked After Children can affect their learning. I'm passionate about fostering high expectations and aspirations for these young learners, ensuring they have a say in setting learning targets.

I'm here to support our staff with advice on teaching strategies tailored to individual children and take the lead in developing and implementing each child's personal education plan (PEP) within the school. My goal is to create an environment where every Looked After Child can thrive academically and personally.

 

In School Family Support Worker and DDSL:

Hi, I'm Tracey Bourdeau, the In School Family Support Worker at Lindridge. My job is all about helping families when they need it most. Whether you're looking for advice on parenting, struggling with finances, or dealing with attendance issues, I'm here to support you. I'll do my best to provide practical solutions, and if there's something I can't directly assist with, I can point you in the right direction. My goal is to make sure that every family in our community feels heard and supported. So, don't hesitate to reach out – together, we can find solutions to make family life a bit easier.

We are a trauma-informed school (TISCUK) of which I have specific training and qualifications for. I am also ELSA trained which means that I can offer personalised support for children with emotional/mental health/well being needs. I accompany Mrs Hadley on the gate each morning, so please do come and catch up with us there, anytime.

DDSL and First Aid Lead:

Hi, I'm Katy Hurst. In my role as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), I work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead to help ensure that every child is safe, happy and well-supported. Having the privilege of knowing our families and wider community so well is invaluable in this role, helping me to build trusted relationships and provide support when it is needed most. I am always available to listen, offer guidance and signpost families to additional help and services where appropriate.

As part of our safeguarding team, I accompany the DSL on home visits and work alongside colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. I am also the school’s First Aid Lead, with responsibility for overseeing first aid provision and supporting the health and wellbeing of our school community.
