    Remote education provision:

    information for parents

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents/carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require children to remain at home.

At Lindridge, with the River Teme often causing us to close or partially close during winter months due to flooding, the following information will give families information about how we aim to continue learning in these circumstances.

What should my child expect from immediate remote education in the first day (or two) of pupils being sent home?

There will be remote teaching and some self study time each day.

How long can I expect work set by the school to take my child each day?

We expect that remote education (including remote teaching and independent work) will take pupils broadly the following number of hours each day:

EYFS - 45 mins online phonics lesson, 10 mins of reading to a grown up at home, 15 minute maths activity and a homework PE task.

KS1 - 30 mins online phonics lesson, 30 mins online writing lesson, 20 mins maths self study, 20 mins homework PE task and reading 1:1 to an adult at home.

KS2 - 45 mins online writing lesson, 45 mins online maths lesson, 15 mins spelling, 15 mins handwriting self study, 30 mins homework PE task and 1:1 reading to an adult at home.

    Accessing remote education

We will teach the online lessons through Teams. At our first parents' evening of the academic year, we will ensure that families have their child's Teams logins ready to set up and a remote learning pack will be given out at that time too.

Supporting resources will be emailed to parents' accounts.

If my child does not have digital or online access at home, how will I support them to access remote education?

We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. We take the following approaches to support those pupils to access remote education. #

    1. If possible, we will deliver resource packs.

    2. We will email powerpoints and resources to family email accounts.

    3. We will upload powerpoints and resources to Class Dojo pages.

    Engagement and Feedback

We understand that every parents' situation is different and therefore the level of support available will vary. We expect you to enable your child to attend live registration every morning. We expect you to support children daily in accessing, completing and uploading learning where possible, particularly EYFS and KS1. KS2 children will be able to complete their learning with a greater degree of independence - we expect you to encourage their engagement and support them where possible, particularly by arranging access to IT and a quiet place for them to focus.

Work will be uploaded or emailed to class teachers who will mark the work. If we have any concerns about engagement, we will contact you.

We will provide feedback for the completed work either online via Dojo or Teams, or verbally in our live sessions.

How will you work with me to help my child who needs additional support from adults at home to access remote education?

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with SEND, may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families and Mrs Murphy will work with families to support those pupils in a way that is tailored to their individual needs.
