Our Beyond the Classroom provision is further enriched through an exciting programme of clubs, visits, events and activities that enhance and complement our curriculum. From creative and sporting opportunities to cultural and community experiences, pupils are encouraged to discover new interests and talents.

We are also proud to offer a wide range of pupil leadership opportunities, empowering children to develop responsibility, teamwork and communication skills. Whether representing their peers, leading initiatives or contributing to school improvement, our pupils are encouraged to become confident, responsible and active members of our school community.

Pupil Parliament

In July, we held our first whole-school democratic election to appoint our School Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. Using real ballot boxes and polling booths, pupils experienced the excitement of voting and having their voices heard.

We were extremely impressed by the excellent manifestos written and shared by our Year 5 candidates, who demonstrated enthusiasm, leadership and a desire to make our school even better.

Each week, our Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister will meet with Mrs Hadley and the Pupil Parliament class representatives to discuss issues that matter to pupils. In September, their first focus will be pupil wellbeing and promoting excellent play for everyone.

Collective Worship Ambassadors

Our three Collective Worship Ambassadors from Key Stage 2 support Mrs Hadley and Mr Wild in leading and developing collective worship across the school. They help to introduce worship and confidently lead prayers that they have prepared themselves.

As part of their role, the ambassadors attend three Sunday services at St Lawrence Church throughout the year and take part in the monthly Wednesday Communion Service at Lindridge Parish Hall. Through their leadership, they help to strengthen our school community and encourage pupils to reflect, pray and worship together.

Reading Ambassadors

Our Reading Ambassadors are passionate about promoting a love of reading throughout the school. Twice a week, they visit our school library, now located within St Lawrence Church, to help keep the space engaging and ensure our book collection is regularly updated.

They take story bags onto the playground each day to encourage reading for pleasure and visit EYFS/KS1 weekly to share their favourite stories with younger pupils. The ambassadors also work with Mrs Hadley to plan events for National Poetry Day and World Book Week. In 2026/27, they will take on the exciting role of Young Judges for the Primary Verse Novel Award, working alongside Mrs Hadley to celebrate outstanding children's literature.

Digital Leads

Our Digital Leads play an important role in supporting technology across the school. Working alongside Mr Pickford, they help prepare music, presentations and videos for collective worship and contribute to creating engaging worship experiences for all pupils.

They also take a lead during Internet Safety Week by presenting an assembly to promote safe and responsible online behaviour. Throughout the year, they will review the school website class pages and suggest improvements, helping to ensure our website remains informative, engaging and pupil-friendly.

Well-Being Warriors

Our Wellbeing Warriors are a new pupil leadership team made up of children from across the school. Working alongside Mrs Murphy, our Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, they will help to promote positive wellbeing and ensure that every pupil feels happy, supported and valued.

From September, the Wellbeing Warriors will be launching Worry Monsters in every classroom to encourage children to share their feelings and seek support when needed. They will also play a leading role in organising and promoting activities during Mental Health Week and Anti-Bullying Week, helping to create a caring, inclusive and supportive school community for all.

 

Community Projects

From September, our Pupil Parliament will plan and lead a range of community projects, helping pupils make a positive difference both within school and beyond. These projects will provide opportunities for children to demonstrate compassion, responsibility and active citizenship.

Throughout the year, pupils will support the Dementia Café at Tenbury Library, contribute to national charity events such as Comic Relief and Children in Need, organise collections for the local food bank and take part in litter-picking activities around our school and local community. Through these projects, we hope to inspire pupils to care for others and recognise the value of giving back.
